Anybody know what happened to these? And they should have put the bridge closer to the end of the body, there's like a whole inch of space there. That would surely have improved neck dive a bit

On the SBMM Ray34 the screws have a little ramp thing. I personally like the way the two screws look though

The red lines were used to line up the pictures of the basses, the other lines are where the pickup pole pieces are of each bass (e.g. green = jazz bridge pickup. there are 2 lines for 60s/70s position)

I personally enjoy bright tones. The neck pickup on the StingRay HH is definitely too muddy/dark for me. All depends on the genre you're playing I suppose. Probably doesn't sound muddy to you if you're into something like Motown, but it doesn't work for the type of stuff I like to play.
