Number One vs Bass Rotation—which is you?

When playing gigs, I always use the same bass. I suppose it could be called my number one, although that is not how I refer to it. It's a Warmoth J-Style body and neck I assembled that has DiMarzio DP-123 Jazz pickups. For rehearsals, I play the flavor of the day.

    Pain gone!

That is the best news I have heard today! Good for you. Enjoy being able to enjoy playing.

What audiences hate about live musicians

We didn’t have a tip jar until the third or fourth time someone approached the band asking where they should leave the tip? We decided to add a small jar labeled “Tips” and we leave it on the corner of the stage. The amount in it at the end of the night seems to be more venue related than patron...

Beautiful! I love the color, also. Congratulations!

The prettiest jazz bass I've seen in a while...

OP, I agree. That is stunning! And I’m sure it is well above my price range, but it is still beautiful to look at.

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

Hi. No I can’t get to it from any side outside. The entire jack is sealed (black plastic enclosure). If he would have refunded me, I would have tried a couple of ideas I had because if they failed, I could still have sent it to JD to resolve. Since I am not getting any compensation I am not...

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

Seller said he doesn't issue partial refunds, which I can understand, so back it goes.

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

I’m glad you were able to resolve it yourself. It would be frustrating to loose a good pedal over saving a few bucks. Unfortunately this jack is entirely sealed so your solution wouldn’t work for this pedal. That is the case with this jack. I added a small hook to a paper clip and I was able...

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

Thank you all for your advice! The seller offered a full refund. I had also contacted Dunlop and the Rep said that they would repair the pedal for a flat fee of $50USD, which would include parts, labor and return shipping. I expect that the repair would restore the pedal fully. I am waiting to...

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

Thank you for the reply. I believe you are correct that the jack needs to be replaced. It appears that there is the end tip from another cable stuck/broken off inside. There is no way to extract it, as I have tried a number of ways to get ahold of it unsuccessfully, including using a magnet. I...

Help Please with Output Cable Problem on Effect Pedal

Hello and thank you for checking this thread out. I just purchased an MXR M81 Bass Preamp pedal used. Everything seems to work good except I cannot fully insert the output cable into the output jack. I have never seen this before and I am not sure what could be causing this or what I should do...

What Bass Made You Stop Looking for Others?

Sort of .... My main player is a partscaster that I assembled. It is an MJT body, Warmoth neck, and DiMarzio J-Bass pickups. But, as many do, I have a few others and when the mood strikes, I love to play any one of them.

    Buying old pedals, worth it?

I am still regularly using Boss and Ibanez pedals I purchased brand new in the early '80s. I agree with JonathanPDX that I would not necessarily seek out an older one if a new version is readily available. Best wishes for finding what you are looking for.

    Lemmy, we hardly knew ye…

Agree. We were astounded. I commented because it was incredible to know that he had drank that much and was able to perform at such a high level.

    Lemmy, we hardly knew ye…

A couple of friends and I saw Motorhead (Lemmy, Fast Eddie & Philthy) open for Ozzy (with Randy Rhoads) May 24, 1981 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. I was able to stand in front of Lemmy and it was fantastic. You could tell he was authentic, no "rock star" persona, he just was a rock star...
