Hello, I was wondering where you guys got your pickguards from? I'm looking for a black one for my tmb 100, i live in Europe (Netherlands) so it would be nice if shipping and such wasn't too expensive.

I own a used Warwick Corvette $$ German made. Paid 1300usd for it, probably new around 1700usd, no idea really. Cheapest bass currently is a Ibanez tmb 100 (used for 160usd, new for 240usd).

I enjoy the new songs. Excited to go see them live soon

To answer the topic question. I think it's because of two reasons 1. Bass players are super concervative. We still use the precision and jazz bass most of the time. People don't like change 2. Manufacturing them is expensive. Price wise you get more bang for the buck with a none fanned fret...

That's right! I spend way too much time there helping beginners (or making it more difficult for them if they ask the wrong questions haha). I'll try to move more to TB, think it has more to offer me.

Thanks. Yup. I'm from the Netherlands. Painting is also fun. Like with most hobbies you can't do both at the same time but having multiple hobbies is still a good thing imo. Have fun!

You're doing fine because you practice a lot. I always say, join a band as soon as possible. The fastest way to improve. When I look for a band I go to the national website for musicians wanted (for me it's muzikantenbank.net) and I use Facebook pages. You probably also have local websites...

This looks amazing. I'm really tempted to steal this idea of yours. How did you make that pickguard and what pickup did you choose as a replacement? You also made it passive right?
