My stock strings have found a way to bend, so it's time for a string upgrade! I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for strings I could put on there. I finger alot, but i also want the capability to play with a bow too.

Playing my stagg edb is something I look forward to everyday! I have an issue though. When I play a f# (and sometimes b) on the E string, the string rattles and sounds like a regular bass would if you weren't pushing hard enough. It appears that the string is hitting the neck again a little bit...

It was a rosin issue. I talked to a guy at my local music store and figured out it was a lack of rosin. It's playing well now. Thanks all!

would it be a rosin issue? and how tight should the bow hairs be?

It's turned on and i'm not even getting an acoustic sound at all from the bow.

I'm a bassist that is trying to learn to play upright bass. I recently purchased a stagg edb and a cello 4/4 glasser bow from amazon. I'm brand new to the world of upright bass and using a bow. I tried to get a sound out of my bass with the bow, but i couldn't. This describtion might be vague...
