The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

You were able to verify that the tester shows the issue right off without having to burn them in for an hour? That's awesome! There is a vendor that I use that is 1/3 cheaper per tube but has a 20% failure rate (at WAY smaller qty than you) and it would be nice to not have to run a tube for an...

    Labella Super Polished

They also made these same strings 2 years ago from everything I can tell (super polished stainless steel hex core groundwounds) so I'm thinking there is a disconnect with the social media team

My understanding is that these are the same as the 2022 run with new packaging, the 2018 were just unground polished nickel so quite different of course. Where did they say they're unrelated to previous runs, did they throw any more interesting tidbits out there?

This is also at least the second run of "buttery" smoother super polished. They also did a run in 2022 iirc so it's looking like there is probably enough demand for periodic production at a minimum. I'm real curious to see if the lifecycle is more like rounds or flats

Sounds to me like you are mistaking a bad tube for the need for balanced triodes. I'll take the word of the designer over you spreading bad advice

SushiFX himself has said you absolutely do not need balanced triodes in these pedals at all.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

You don't find specs because it is part of the setup and varies from player to player based on what they like. You should absolutely be adjusting the pickup heights to your taste and any dissatisfaction with the relative volume is the result of a bad setup especially with the P pickup where...

I've never heard of this happening to a poly finished bass and it's almost always from a cold/frozen environment to a hot environment

Lots of companies design the pickup and out source the manufacturing or vice versa.

Like most things it depends. If the grain is laid in correctly it will result in an immediate increase in rigidity. Done wrong and it can turn your neck into a banana

I've never felt they were particularly narrow especially compared to something like the Ibanez SR line
