    Actually just realized it's the same bass that ArenW mentioned earlier - I bought it from him! Any info on the maker would be great.

    My bass has that same purfling near the button, but the label on the inside doesn't read Made in Western Germany: instead it reads G. R. Schmidt Model 65 (might be E. R. Schmidt, it's hard to tell). It's a hybrid with the flame, and its been appraised for 5.5k.

    Double Bass Pirastro Passione vs Permanent

    I'm thinking about switching my G and D to Passione's while keeping my A and E Permanents...how does the guage/tension of the Passione compare to the Permanent?
