    + 1 for the Ampeg v4/v4b and the B25b, these two amps ( especially the b25) have VERY similar circuitry and tones as a b-15. Plus, the B25b's usually go for around $400-500 on ebay, so they are comparatively cheaper than b-15s. I would personally opt for a v4 though, because they are louder...

    How do you evaluate a vintage tube amp?

    Make sure the note-to-note volume is at least close to equal when the eq is flat. Check for scratchy pots, and that input/output jacks arent loose/broken. If you can, also see how transformer gets after about 10 mins of being used. If it is burning hot you may have to rebias the tubes, and...

    I forgot to add that i use an active shecter bass with EMG humbuckers, so that may be why it breaks up at 10:30 instead of 11
