I've never been a fan of neodynium drivers in the lightweight cabs. Not as much mid definition as traditional drivers.

I have owned the Diabolik for some time now and I'm cautious about the fact it can far exceed unity gain. Does this hot of a signal have the potential to damage the input circuitry of my solid state amp/pedals placed after?

Yes. Makes sense. It's those warm articulate upper mids that I'm after. I like the way the Eden head sounds with the Eden cab. I performed with a GK head and an ampeg cab the other night, and thought it sounded much to warbly in the low mids.

That Mesa m9 sounds superb. If I had $900 to spend on a head, that'd definately do wonders. I recently discovered that the Eden wt550 sounds wonderful too. Possibly a warm 60's kind of tone? Didn't know Eden existed, but might be my prime candidate for a head as it's more in my price range.

My friend put flat wounds on his bass, and they are very smooth. Easy on the fingers. Keep at it my friend.
