Which of these acoustic basses should I get?

I wasn't impressed with the Cordoba until I tried on at a GC. Surprisingly loud and mid-forward in person for unplugged personal practice. Ended up getting a Martin 000cjr-10e and have loved it.

Martin 000CJR-10E Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar, anyone have one?

Yep! I literally just got one a couple of weeks ago. Really digging it. Some quick thoughts: - loved my U-Bass but wanted something louder that could intonate all the way up the neck - tried the Taylor Mini-e and Guild mini basses and liked them but kept missing being able to play above the...

Looks like a nice, subtle, and practical mod to a well-loved axe. For the life of me I don't know why Ibanez thought all bass-side dot markers were a good idea on a fanned-fret bass with a neck this wide. I dig your tweak to your bass.

I completely agree with your take on using it live and in rehearsal. It's so damned comfortable and the sound really cuts through when you dial it in a little. I got mine as a rehearsal bass and it's ended up as my main live instrument. I actually ended up using my 1005SMS with Aguilars on a...

I can relate to that so much. I jumped from 4 string to 6 around a year after I started playing, but moved primarily to 5 because I realized I was getting paid to play the notes on the lower strings more often than the ones on the higher strings in most of the gigs I was landing. I've always...

I got my 1005SMS as a travel/practice bass that would fit in a guitar bag, but it's worked out so well that it's become my main gigging axe for now. It's a great conversation starter when I pull it out of the gig bag for shows. I worked with RocklandGifts on Etsy to get a pickguard cut for it...

    TRADED Bossa OBJ-6

That's a beaut! My Bossa has been a workhorse tone monster for decades. These instruments are hard to find and very worth it when they turn up. GTWS

I can't speak to the stock Barts or the Nords, since my 1005SMS came with a set of DCB-D4s already installed. But I can say that my experience with the Aguilar pickups has been great. They're sonically flexible and I've had no trouble getting deep, warm, rounds tones mostly dialed to the neck...

Congratulations! It looks like you nailed it. Ibanez should be paying a commission to @LowEndLobster to thank him for all the EHB purchases his videos have triggered, including mine.

Is a 6 the one to rule them all?

I started on 4, went to 6 for a few years, then settled on 5 for my main gigging basses. 5 feels like home to me and I own several, along with a Jazz 4 with flats and a Curbow 6 I love playing at home. A lot of 6'ers have wide necks and while I love the musical options 6 strings give me, I was...

A fresh set of strings made a big difference for me, too. I wasn't unhappy with the instrument with the medium D'addario set the first owner had paired with a .145 B string, but the steel Lo-Riders I put on it a couple of days ago, gauged .045-.130, really livened up the instrument's voice. The...

After swapping to the +6dB header last night, I tried the swap from VM3 to BEQ3 this morning. It does alter the tone as advertised with a more scooped and present tone. I'm not sure the Aguilar pickups in this bass actually need it but it seems like a great option for EHB100x players who think...
