I didn't have anything to plug into it via USB.
So I was never able to test its USB connection there.



Technically you're right, I don't need too... but I like tweaking the settings and experimenting with the different sounds and tones. So leaving it plugged in just makes that easier, as opposed to.. dial something in, sit and play a few riffs... decide I want to tweak a setting this way, or that way.. play a few more riffs... tweak it some more, etc etc...

I am going to call up a friend, see if I can temporarily borrow their laptop PC... take that, and the GT1B back to the store, plug it all up and see if I can reproduce the feedback noise.

I have no issues using mine with a MacBook, once I programmed it, I rarely plug it in. You can make the same adjustments from the unit itself, it’s just not as intuitive

I ended up taking it back to the store I got it from.
They gave me a full refund for it, which I've set aside to put into a Katana 110 amp, to replace my Ampeg BA110.
Then I'll just use the Katana's (optional) bluetooth connection to configure it from my PC.

I've been playing around with my Katana 110 a lot more recently. Pleasantly surprised with the variety of sounds I can get out of this thing. Never really used the Vintage or Modern tone shaping before, but I'm really liking using the Vintage for my P bass with flats, and the Modern with my high C five. Really nice sounds on offer here - just wish it wasn't so heavy (in comparison to my rumble) or I'd lug it around more. For now, it's staying at home.
and yes I know many people use amps/cabs/combos that are much bigger and much heavier, but I have no need for those sorts of things, and I hope I never do because I'd hate it

A high C 5 player! Are you tuned EADGC?

May I ask if you did any custom work to the 5, such as having the nut replaced to accomodate the different string gauges?

I know its a rare tuning, but its actually one Im interested in doing someday.... tune EADGC, but then add a hipshot extender on the E specifIcally for quick on the fly Drop D tuning.

I made no adjustments - it's a Yamaha TRBX 605 (same specs as the 505), 34" scale. There's no buzzing at the nut or anything! I'm even using super light gauge strings and it's still handling the high C tuning just fine.

The first set of strings I put on were from an EB Slinky 6 string set (custom gauge - the orange package) and they worked great. Currently I have a Fodera high C 5 string set on there and they also sound good.

High C is honestly really nice. Makes transitioning from a regular 4 string a lot easier because your largest string is still an E, and muting the high C isn't as difficult as muting a Low B (assuming you're used to a 4 string). Still has many of the benefits of a typical 5 - you can extend patterns across one more string, you can play a two octave scale in one position. You just don't get the benefit of having access to your lower notes further up the neck - still gotta go next to the nut to hit a low G or F. Wonderful for chords too.

Hey all. Been a longtime cab and head user, but I’ve been considering the Katana 210 to simplify not having to carry as much gear. I play in a punk/pop-punk band, and in almost all situations we have front of house support. However, I am curious if people’s experience gigging this amp with louder bands (punk/metal/rock). I really enjoy boss’s bass tones, I think they do a great job. Just wanna get some feedback on how well this handles louder volumes.

It’s plenty loud, and sounds like a real amp! It is a little heavy, but it sounds heavy!

Looked around for a Katana Bass fan club - couldn't find one but this thread is probably the closest.

Just want to mention how in love I am with my Katana 110 combo. I only use it at home as a practice amp, and I'm just amazed by the 1W power mode. I never even turn it on max power.

All the built-in effects keep me from pedal-buying GAS, every time

I have the BT-Dual bluetooth adapter, and I'm not sure why it wasn't built-in because it's probably my favorite feature. I turn the amp on, my tablet automatically connects, ready to change the fx settings through the app or stream audio to practice along with (and it sounds great thanks to the tweeter). Yeah, you can hook up a USB cable and do the same things, but I think the whole idea of "oh, you have attach a cable from the amp to your computer (or have the right usb adapter to connect to your phone) to do anything" is enough of a barrier to scare people away. There's dozens of built in effects, compressors, distortions, not just the 3/6 you're (cryptically) presented with on the amp! The bluetooth connectivity is seamless, and would be barrier-free if you didn't have to spend an extra $60 on a bluetooth module that the music store you bought the amp from probably doesn't have in stock.

That being said, this combo is hard to beat, especially for practice/bedroom settings. I always gravitate toward it because of the seamlessness and variety of tones it can achieve.

How do you stream music? I'm on android and cannot get music to play through the katana when connected to Bluetooth. I have the Bluetooth adapter. Does it only work via line in?

So if you hold down the pairing button on the adapter, it should start blinking. Then you can connect with your phone. I believe it shows up as two different devices - Katana Bass MIDI and Katana Bass Audio (or something like that). If you connect to the Audio one, it works just like any other Bluetooth speaker (and it should automatically connect every time you turn the combo on).

Thank you! I got it to work.

You are right, you have to pair the audio separate of pairing the amp to the app. Weird! But like most of the controls on this, I find them confusing.

Any references to why it was pulled? I just went to Sweetwater today to order this off of my wishlist but then got the "no longer available" message and was pretty confused so came here and saw your post. TIA

Speculation is rife, but Boss claim it is due to a part unavailable, someone else claimed it was the Oled display supplier being banned for supplying parts to Russia.
Others have claimed the Katana GO looks too much like the Fender equivalent and a pending copyright lawsuit.

But they are said to be coming back in 6 months in a different form factor.

I have a question, I am currently developing a Katana:GO editor app for Windows/Mac/Linux systems, and now adding compatibility for read and converting the Katana Bass and Katana Bass Head type *.tsl patch files.
Would it be of any value to have the ability to export Katana:GO Bass mode or Guitar mode patches to Katana Bass type ones to use in Tone Studio for Katana Bass. ?
Do any Katana Bass amp users also have a KATANA:GO ?

Here is where the progress is at with the "Katana-GO-FxFloorBoard editor software development.
Added compatibility with loading in Katana 110, 210, and Head 500 Tone Studio patch files.
The Bass file save feature is almost there too.

I was playing around with the Tone Studio App for Katana Bass, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to get reverb and delay at the same time, why is this? Its possible in the tone studio app for katana guitar, but not for bass?
