    You're right in saying that new combos are in budget, but for rental there is much less choices. I thought that a used rig could be a good idea for having higher quality.

    If it can help reduce the amount of suggestions, I look for a sound that is defined and growling in the low-mids. I'm not much into deep frequencies. I won't do slaping but do want some nice highs/high-mids as well. It's hard to explain but I hope you see what I mean. Something well balanced...

    Good point Bill, I would not like to have a big 8x10 as the kit will be stored upstairs. If possible I would like small parts, like an amp head and cabs of 1-4 speakers max.
