I thinks it's gotta lot to do with ergonomics if a bass is balanced well it seems lighter to me.ive got an Ibanez and an ebo that are grams apart and the ebo feels heavy after an hour or two.but your question wasn't that i,was y is there so much focus on it?..we must have an aging bass...

If your not wanting to sand I'd take a cardscraper to it.faster,and way less dust to deal with

Tone heavy ,light.thick,thin....I'm not sure I subscribe to the idea of wieght being a tone thing kinda leave that up to eq...it's mire bout comfort than weight...if a bass is nice and balanced the weights even...if your in a fight with balance itl feel heavy everytime and might make you play...

I guess it's technically edge.they shape easier cause your sanding across the grain .. .I did it out of boredom but it worked fine

I like that it's short of frets...another thing I've never played or owned

I was thinking kinda more fir the novelty of it and it's something I don't have...I have couple bass now that haven't left their cases in a year what diff..now maybe it's to decide what kinda pickup set up would be best for dive bombs,,,lol

Was considering one haven't some much home work on them yet any good or common ones I should look into...are they terrible ,great or otherwise...I'm just thinking it'd be different than the norm...maybe inspire a tune or two,conversation piece.

I just get ckguard blanks from solo music...it's not a deal but from Toronto to Manitoba in four days almost every time
