How much does brown bread weigh?I think we made it a week without a current thread about weight.
Not only is "weight" a thing, but threads about it are as well.

I think the tb population is aging. I have yet to weigh a single one of my bases. I care more about balance. Light, yet unbalanced is bad… i would prefer heavy and balanced any day!So I was a member here TB and on AB years ago... I never have seen so many bass players asking about the weight of the bass as they do now. ??? I find this interesting as weight of a bass means nothing to me. I don't find any basses to be too heavy (I've heard these called boat anchors). I also play some hollow body basses that would be considered light by some. But... ultimately why do you care what the weight of a bass is? I have never turned down or bought a bass based on weight. Thoughts???
Some people find certain basses heavy because they are heavy compared to the light ones.Thoughts???
Sorry, I tried to do a search but couldn't find any threads about bass weight. I was hoping maybe, just maybe there was already a thread about it that could shed some light on the subject.

I thinks it's gotta lot to do with ergonomics if a bass is balanced well it seems lighter to me.ive got an Ibanez and an ebo that are grams apart and the ebo feels heavy after an hour or two.but your question wasn't that i,was y is there so much focus on it?..we must have an aging bass community,I'm 37 and locally I'm the young one of the bass players around lol...I do have a couple of younger students and my 8 year old daughter is gonna be a great bassist...but how much can one bass player do to encourage the younger group to pick up bass. along with the lack of guitar in alot of pop music kids arent playing guitars as much?they just aren't nerding out like us on tB.? Fender says they had one of there best years is that cause lock down?unemployed picked it up? stimulus cheques? Hopefully they were bought for they're kids and not for our aging guitar population, lol.id like to see how far the younger gen can take the instrument rather than it fade into obscurity.i know it far from that but it seems to be the direction non things are going. So I was a member here TB and on AB years ago... Steve often uses a thick padded strap cover over his ultra wide strap.Steve Harris says if your bass is too heavy, go play a flute!
same here --- years ago i didn't care either! So I was a member here TB and on AB years ago... weight of a bass means nothing to me
I have a bad back and need to be careful about how much weight I take. It's not only whilst playing, but also cycling or walking with the laden gig bag.So I was a member here TB and on AB years ago...
