Does the peavey max 208 have enough headroom?

I already bought a preamp with a low pass filter for the piezo pickup on my upright. The Fender Rumble 500 is the other amp I like. It more money, but having all that extra headroom is probably worth it. Just hope someone who uses the peavey max 208 could share there experience.

Does the peavey max 208 have enough headroom?

Anyone own the Peavey max 208? Is it loud enough to at least be a stage monitor with a drummer? I don't (and won't) play with drummers who are super load, but I want an amp with enough headroom to keep up with moderate stage volumes when the band gets excited. Sometime in the next few years I...

Double Bass Advice for a trumpet player looking to buy a bass for jam sessions

I saw a YouTube video on buying gear that I thought had good advice. Basically, don't buy gear until you need it. First find a bass player or two that wants to jam with you, then offer to buy gear for your rehearsal space. Different bass players will have different preferences on gear. Know...

    Don't click this, you'll get G.A.S.

I like buying used gear to save a bucks, but I avoid the vintage market. Not only are the prices of vintage gear way beyond anuthing I could ever afford, but there are so many fakes in the vintage world. If I did find something at a trade show I liked and could afford I would really be...

Bell curve of a music style.

Wow, you actually paid attention in school. LOL.

Bell curve of a music style.

standard deviation is a measure of the amount of variation or dispersion of a set of values. In this case the value is the popularity of a music style over a period of time. I don't have any real meaningful data to back my idea. This is all just conjecture. Don't take it too seriously...

Bell curve of a music style.

I don't disagree with you. I was thinking that both Elvis and Metallica could both be considered "rock" yet they don't sound anything alike, just like early jazz sounds very different from later jazz.

Bell curve of a music style.

This video is very eye opening, thank you for sharing. I'm not sure if it helps or hurts the 60 year theory, but I find it interesting.

Bell curve of a music style.

I took statistics last year and had to learn alot about bell curves. Today I was thinking about jazz and rock music's bell curve. The beginning of jazz music was in the 1910's and 1920's, arguably it reached its peak in 1940's and 1950's. Jazz fusion gave it some new life but by in 1970's...

+1 on the Mojomojo for bass. I was shocked how good it sounded. You can find them used for $35

    I regret selling....

Everything I owned when I was younger was cheap junk. I've only gotten good gear in the past several years. No regrets.
