    Questions regarding Jerzy Drozd's guide

That screw may be shortened because at original length it’s too long and will push through the fretboard.

    Critical error sanding/truss rod

Been and done that once too. It’s just part of the journey. In our guitar shop we have a saying. If I can’t be repaired in under 30 minutes it’s a feature.

    Knee Replacement Question

Couple of years now since my right knee was replaced. Was back umpiring baseball and softball 6 months after, albeit slowly at first. Now I’m back pain free and can stand at work all day, so if I was gigging still that wouldn’t be an issue. Rehab was ok, I have a pool at home and a good...

I’ve had a Ritter in my hands and didn’t gel with it, probably because of how expensive they are down under but loved the “art” of the instrument, how it was put together and sounded. I’d be too afraid to take it out to a gig and break a bit of impossible carving off it. Love that last one, the...

    A bass for Ben

It went back into the shop this week. Ben decided he wanted side dots after all so did that and tried the backwards wind but it didn’t help. That G post is just in the wrong place by half its diameter. But thanks for the suggestion, I hadn’t thought to try that.

    What's On Your Workbench?

Persistence pays they say and here’s another example. Looks good.

    A bass for Ben

It's been a while since I posted a build here but I am really happy with how this one turned out. It's been a long build with struggles along the way but with David' encouragement and assistance (David Searle Guitars) and the guys at the shop pushing me on it's finally over the line. This one...

Anyone make a pickup cover for a 6 string Jazz?

Yeah true but I’m a bit bent towards doing everything myself if I can. Happy to fail if I learn something new.
