    Body looks like poplar. Probably it had a solid color like black or white and it was stripped . I said this because poplar was used for solid colors and sometimes for sunburst.     MM Cutlass Fretless?

    I own a factory fretless cutlass. It has the rarer cutlass only (without 1 or 2) decal. To my knowledge It is the only one ever produced.

    I think the refinish can somehow affect the decision....even if for vintage musicmen this is less important than for vintage fenders

    They did some maple fingerboard fretless during the pre ernieball period. They made just a few (less than 10). Very nice looking basses...
