    Body looks like poplar. Probably it had a solid color like black or white and it was stripped . I said this because poplar was used for solid colors and sometimes for sunburst. To be sure you have to look at the neck pocket where normally the dots (left by the paint stick shape) of the original...

    MM Cutlass Fretless?

    I own a factory fretless cutlass. It has the rarer cutlass only (without 1 or 2) decal. To my knowledge It is the only one ever produced.

    I think the refinish can somehow affect the decision....even if for vintage musicmen this is less important than for vintage fenders
