I think if you're going to attempt it, you should practice (slowly) dominant scales playing the top three notes 123. It makes the position a little less intimidating if you can play it anywhere on the neck.

The biggest concern for me in playing the second suite as opposed to the first or third is the amount of double stops and triple stops etc. If you can handle those, you're half way there.
