Double Bass High School Seniors Class of '10 (decisions)

probably either peabody to study with paul johnson or penn state to study with rob nairn. i'm trying to get a visit to peabody to help decide

Hey. I do not know anything about rob narin, but I can tell you that Paul Johnson is an incredible teacher. He has a way of teaching that is like none other I have ever had. He really understands how to help someone develop from wherever they are, even if its undeveloped, to a truly high level of playing. I have improved so incredibly much because of his help. Can't recommend him enough. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I had a lesson with Jeff Weisner when I visited Peabody in the fall. I got a lot out of it and will definitely audition next year. His approach really made a lot of sense to me and he seemed like he would be a great teacher to study with. I've also heard a lot of great things about Paul Johnson. If anyone is interested, Jeff Weisner has a great blog with a lot of interesting and helpful stuff: http://peabodydoublebass.blogspot.com/
