No, only upsides. Easier to play, (usually) lighter, less strain on left arm/hand. You might need to adjust the right hand technique a bit; play With a slightly lighter touch, but that's not really a bad thing.

D'addario Chromes medium scale works perfectly for the Stang. I use them all the time. Not too dull, and higher tension suits the short scale perctly!:bassist:

I just put a deposit for a Compact, and Alex told me a new, smaller 12" Version of the Compact will soon arrive, for better dipersion and treble! For my needs we still agreed on the original Compact as a stand alone cab (for now...).

I have been gigging Mustangs for years, first a MIJ Re-issue, and the last 7 years a '77 MIA. Both great basses, and especially the '77 matches any Precision I have tried when it comes to quality. It also sounds similar, but With it's own vibe. So absolutely no need to worry about gigging...
