Well if theres no circuit diagram then Ill just figure it out from the board cause I got one of those amps. Its an LM13700 circuit and I believe those are used for compressors. It cant take too much to figure out the Hartke circuitry and see what breaking that link and putting in the resistor...

Hi, I have the same issue. I personally love the neck shape. Im going to build a replacement body in mahogany so I can route out new pickup cavitys. Did you ever find a suitable pickup for this bass?

@Kabas I had to try different ones from ebay until I got one that fit. I even modified some using a grinder. In the end I had 2 that worked from ebay and then I found my original one hidden somewhere!

I had year written inside the electronics cavity in pencil on the rim.

The growl I get is more from finger playing on the neck pickup rather than slap and its VERY dependant on the brand of strings. But I do find it has great thick tone for finger playing that I regard as growl. But I dont play Warwick so I dont know what that sounds like.

Hey wouldnt it be great if someone bought the Growler copyright off Gibson and started producing them again, to the same quality level of course. Imagine like a Mayones Growler or a MARUSZCZYK Growler? With 5 ply dark wood necks and a clip open battery compartment instead of screws.

Theres a big flaw people need to know about regarding the Hartke HD range. The equalizer knobs are delicate plastic and break really easily and dont seem to be repleaceble. You have been warned.

Actually yes, because if I can practice at 140 then I can perform comfortably at 120. Anyway since asking this question Ive decided that Level 42, Lessons in Love is a good level to aim for for myself anyway. I dont mind what the rest of you get up to.
