It sounds fine past noon and no clipping. I guess I’m just used to having 30W electric guitar amps that you can’t turn above “1”. So when I crank a bass amp to 8 or 9 it just feels a little weird to me.

Thanks for the recommendations. I haven’t looked into getting a separate power amp and pre. If I went with a Tech 21 VT rack pre (for that SVT tone) and then the ProLITE 3.0 for the power would that work pretty well do you think?
