I recommend the Bass Cellar on Denmark street. I was there in February for work and headed over there to stretch my fingers. The guy on staff was most friendly (forget his name) and I got to try a number of basses I've never played before. I'm a lefty and they had may lefties to choose from...

I think I'm going to end my sheet music search and just try and hack it out on my own... we'll see how that goes :D --bm

I know that this thread is over 4 years old but does anyone know if there is sheet music or tab for "The Boss"? I _love_ this song and want to try playing it... any suggestions, other than transcribing it myself? I'm not a huge James Brown fan but it doesnt seem like this particular tune is...

I bought a 10yr old MIM J-bass for $200 only 6 months ago... I love it.. best bass I've played. That said, some MIM are good, some are not... I think I got lucky. Either way, stay away from the cracked headstock for $300... that's bad news.

I swore a long time ago that I'd never buy a Fender... well, I found a nice 10yr old MIM Jazz bass in November and now it's my favorite one... it's just personal preference... they've been the defacto standard in bass for a _long_ time... lots of multi-platinum albums by big-time artists done...
