The III (non-pro) has the same pre as the IIP. Same as the II and not the 2 Pro. III is 3 12ax7's and then on to the power amp. The 3 Pro has a 3 12ax7 pre and a driver section with 1 12ax7 and 1 12au7.......and then on to the power amp. I think the II/IIP/III set up is a little less...

I know there are no tubes in the head. I'm talking about replacing the SS preamp with a tube one. A custom job. can an amp designed with a SS pre be modified to accept a tube pre?

I have a B4R, a late 70's 810e, and a recently perchased 215e. The sound is amazing. Now that I've found one I'm thinking of adding a 1540he to the rig. So that would be 12 10's and 3 15's with 1k watts behind them. Ridiculous all same but, I think, killer looks and tone wise.

I know this thread is kinda old but I have question for Eden vs the promethean 110 combo. I understand the tone of the 2 heads are very different but I may be able to pick up a use promethean combo and eden ex110 pretty cheap used. Would this little stack maybe give the best best of both worlds...

Well, I was looking forward to a need project but I think yall just saved me a lot of money. I still get to play a little getting it all cleaned up and back to 100%. Now I just need to track down the 6 digit serial number to find out how old it is.

The amp has a crossover function as well. Yes, the 18's would handle the lower frequencies.

The point of making it 2 ohms was to get 500 watts to it with only one side of the amp. Then the other side of the amp would be open for the 18's. The 4th input i spoke of would combine the upper and lower halfs for a 4 ohm load. I'm starting to see how far fetched this is but i was trying to...
