    New Traynor YBA 100!!

I put a clean boost through the effects loop so that I can use it in a small practice space with a Barefaced One10 and it sounds really good. I've got a Resound RS210 that's pretty efficient for any gig. Still really like the tone out of the amp.

Finally Got a TubeAmpology Treble Bezel & New Chrome Treble Ring + Updates on my Rickenbacker 4003 Autumnglo

Looking for advice.... I bought one of these a while back and when I install it the way it sits in the larger ring around the pickup I end up with sharp edges. Too uncomfortable to use. The pics of the OP bass and other show rings with a smoother transition to be lower around the pickup and mine...

    Birdsong Club Pt 2

I put long scale TI JF344 jazz flats on mine. Strung through body no issues. That said it’s an expensive experiment with those.

Band becoming LLC, paying members as contractors... Run, or okay?

You say, “it’s not about the money,” but them filing as an LLC means it’s all about the money. The band I was in in the 80’s did that or something like it but we were all in agreement. Bought our PA that way and ultimately split the money when it ended.

Arthritis / short or medium scale recommendation

Birdsong is also worth a look. I have a Birdsong Corto bass and it is very modern sounding IMO. Comfortable too.

    Identify EV cabinet!

Too much now and probably then. In the 80’s my rig was a GK800RB With an Acoustic 402 215 cab which I think was relatively light and had wheels on the side so I used it as a dolly. Worked great and sounded great to me.

    Identify EV cabinet!

40 years ago I really wanted an EV cab like that. I’m sure it’s way too heavy for me now. But even if it’s old I expect you can still get recone kits for a 15L

What cab for 200 watt tube amp.

Great full explanation. If I’m in your shoes I’d focus on this in my search. An efficient 8ohm cab where you could get one and add a second if you need it. I recently got a Traynor YBA-100 which is likely plenty for me with my Revsound RS210 but I already had the cab which is 4 ohms.

No one will ever accuse her of being subtle.

That’s more notes than I played last year

    Medium scale single strings

You could check out Newtone strings on the UK. Not sure about bass guitar gauges but they sell singles and custom sets and you can get them in the specific lengths you need. As of a year ago the strings are not expensive but shipping may be more due to current world chaos. And I see there’s a...

A Tree Fell On Our Stage!

That's way up there on the crazy gig list. Much sympathy for your gear.

Who's ended up running just an old passive four string plugged straight into an old (or newish) tube head these days?

I got a Traynor YBA-100 in January and assuming I can get it loud enough at a gig I’ll be done. I think it will be with my Revsound RS210 but I’m willing to get one or two 15’s if necessary. Sounds great through a Barefaced One10 at practice and I was surprised I could record through it when...

    The C-Bass

Closest thing I’ve done to that is get an Eastwood Warren Ellis tenor baritone which is a 4-string tuned to cello tuning but I use that as a guitar. I also have a cello that I hope to learn
