    Help identifying Pickgard

I have a couple of basses that had no Pickgard which I have added one later. Always use double sided tape so if I ever resell it can be returned to original condition. I knew I would get an answer if I posted here Thank you Talkbass!

    Help identifying Pickgard

Got this Pickgard for my 1990’s fender p-lyte bass. The bass did not come with a Pickgard but I found this one in a close out bin at my local music store. It fits close enough and I like it much better than no Pickgard. Any idea what bass this Pickgard was originally made for?

    Envelope filter headaches!

I have had my best results with a multi fx. I do mostly “causal” gigs in restaurants with little to no sound check time. it might not be the best envelope filter sound but it is reliable. I’m currently using a korg pandora stomp. The patch has a compressor before the envelope filter and I need...

Volume balance when playing in different positions

Thanks for the input but this issue is not between the two pickups only the bridge pickup soloed. The volume changes a lot depending on where i put my hand when i play the p-lyte. On the other hand I can get a very warm rounded tone by playing near the neck on my other jazz basses but not with...

Volume balance when playing in different positions

I have a mij fender p-lyte. I really enjoy how it feels and plays. I also mostly play just with the bridge pickup. My problem is when my hand is playing over the neck pickup the volume drops and the tone thins out. This has happened while using the stock electronics and two different bridge...

Poll: Would you buy a Steinberger L/XL today if Ned announced?

I have a xl fretless that I only play in pit orchestras because of the size and I could play it sitting down. but when I play my jazz gigs my jazz bass feels much more comfortable playing standing up plus most importantly I have a hard time getting a good bridge pickup sound with the xl. The xl...

    Steinberger XL-2 Transitional

I also have a xl2 transitional bass but it has active pickups with passive tone. I used to own a steinberger xm with the haz lab electronics. The 3 knobs were volume, balance, and tone. The tone was not to my liking because as you increased the bass it would simultaneously cut the treble and if...

Lined fretless: Make me feel better please!

I've been playing fretless for 20 years now and I did not realize some people consider having lines as a stigma until about 5 years ago. Who cares jaco had then gary willis has them mark egan has them- Edgar Meyer even has dots on his upright. They all sound pretty good

    Ornette Coleman fans?

I remember getting a steinberger catalogue that featured Jamaaladeen Tacuma. That made me get Virgin Beauty, came out in the 80's. It had some cool grooves and interesting soloing. It was a very "in" album compared his earlier electric stuff which I bought years later after I lost my taste for...

    Fender Plus Deluxe Club

Looks good! And fretless would be nice - I have a fretless Kubicki and it rules! There are some smaller machine tuners out there w/similar sculpted tuning pegs but they may not weigh that much less than the originals. If you do ever replace them, I'm interested the Schallers. :) What guard is...

    Fender Plus Deluxe Club

This is my Jazz Plus. I got it five years ago at GC in Albany, NY. I think it is a 1990 model. I finally went ahead and had it converted to fretless. I am very happy with the results. I was not too happy with all that red so I taped a pick guard to it. I also had a D tuner put on. At one...

FS, but now considering trades: Fender USA Deluxe fretless Jazz w/ major upgrades!

That neck looks just like the necks on the fretless basses in my frontline fender magazines that I lusted after for many years. They did have dot inlays. So I do believe it is an original fretless not a conversion. Wish I had a worthy trade to offer.

    KORG PANDORA STOMP!

I've used it for 2 gigs and it worked pretty good for envelope filter and octave effects. I did have to spend some time getting the levels to work at gig volume but it is set now. I do have a question about the wah wah settings. Without an expression pedal Are they useless or is there a way to...

    How many fretless basses?

Also have a Synapse 5 which I got because it's the twin of my fretted Synapse 5, and I couldn't resist having a matched pair, especially at the price it was listed at. ^^^^ Are you able to simulate a decent upright tone with the synapse?Because of the Piezo pickups I thought it might be a good...
