Congrats! Looks like you got the new set of pickups as the poles aren't exposed anymore. I wasn't a bit fan of the old ones so I wonder how different the new ones are. Any noise from the pickups? I had issues with the previous batch.

Let me know how the flexcore turns out! I think I will go with the Nordstrand preamp since it's a bit cheaper and simpler. Flexcore is definitely tempting, though, as having a 4-band instead of a mid-frequency toggle with a 3-band sounds potentially very nice.

Anyone try putting a Mike Pope flexcore in an ehb1506ms (or any ehb really)? Right now deciding between the Nordstrand 3B and the flexcore but I'm worried the flexcore might be a tight fit with the pot design. Thanks!

Yeah, thought the preamp did its job and didn't really see a reason to replace it. It also seemed much more time consuming to replace the preamp compared to a simple pickup swap.

Interesting, mine definitely had noise issues when soloing pickups until I swapped them out for Delano dual coils. They looked like a pair of stacked coils upon removal with a single wire sent to hot. I've since sold the bass so can't send a picture sadly. Maybe it's a different pickup design...
