I need to know what kind of amp can really rock. i mean can really take a show and make it great for a bassist. something with a real nice low end, real snappy mid range and a high that isnt too much but enough to impress

Fender Jazz's, ernie ball music mans and believe it or not i find that Spector basses are pretty good for slapping. i had one one time, and old used one and i took the time to reset the bridge right and it worked great. but thats what i found. i dunno if newer spector basses are worth it. but...

Just be sure to take the time to practice and learn your stuff. you dont have to ge young to learn something. the saying 'you cant teach an old dog new tricks' does not apply to music.
