Quick question for those of you that play five string exclusively...

Keep the thing. I have multiple basses to accommodate multiple tuning's. Some songs will just play with more ease on a 4-String in Drop D. Others straight up on a 5 string. I also have a dropped 5 String to ADGCF. And having a backup is useful.

Signal Chain for bass amp to compressor.

Awesome, I will deffinitively try that. I play both passive and active basses depending on where I'm at. It was just worried that the FX loop would not play nice with a compressor. So plugging in directly to the compressor (as if it where a pedal) should work. Otherwise FX loop. (And yes...

Signal Chain for bass amp to compressor.

It does indeed! However it's really not that good and there is no option whatsoever to adjust it. It's just on or off. Which I don't like.

Signal Chain for bass amp to compressor.

Hi people! I'm fairly new here. And I've been trying to figure out what would be the best way to set-up my signal chain. And I'm not a super pro at audio stuff and being french I sometimes struggle with some of the technical material. I have an Eden WT-500 amp, Korg Rack Tuner, and a DBX 266XL...

Would love some input from luthiers/builders/pros about my upcoming bass purchase!

Oh and. I looked into your bass suggestion. Found out one of my favorite bass players on youtube who does covers plays a Dingwall. And then I found out John Myun has completely switched to MusicMan BOngos. Life choices.

Would love some input from luthiers/builders/pros about my upcoming bass purchase!

Yeah, well. I've been playing for about 5 years. And took about 1 and a half year of lessons. However I did break my left wrist this winter. Had a cast on for a few months. Which is one of the reasons I'm looking for something lighter. It's a old 1989 Fender Squier HM 5 strings. The thing weighs...

Would love some input from luthiers/builders/pros about my upcoming bass purchase!

Wow man! Above and beyond. I really appreciate the feedback. I've been sort of juggling the thought of getting a custom built all-together. But then I can't help but wonder why so many bands just play a "regular store-bought" guitar. I just feel my stupid bass right now is too thick and heavy...

Would love some input from luthiers/builders/pros about my upcoming bass purchase!

Hi everyone! So I've been sifting through the forums for some info about a good choice of bass that would be well suited for the metal genre. My current bass is a HEAVY passive Fender HM and it just feels much too heavy, sludgy, wide, thick to be playing really faster. So I started my search. I...

Please help me out to identify this bass! I am clueless!

So i brought it to my luthier. We opened it up. Pickups where wired separately. It was properly shielded. Everything was well done. But what would be the purpose of running separate outputs for pickups? I guess insane amount of control over tone and sound by running into 2 separate amps...
