I'm gonna go busking with my band to make a bit of extra money but I don't have a battery-powered amp. What's the cheapest possible amp that isn't gonna break on me?

I play in a funk rock/metal band and whenever I'm writing a bass riff I mostly end up going to the root note and then up an octave as the basis for the riff other than a few times where I go to the fifth from the root. Any tips for expanding? It's getting a bit repetitive.

Does anyone have any tips for reducing gig nerves? I feel like if I was less nervous, I'd play better, have a better stage presence etc.
