One Bass to do it all?

My Sandberg VM5 with coil tap on the humbucker is very close to covering everything. P, 60/70’s J, Stingray (approx)

Nice rig - how are you finding the WD-800?

Any experience with the Ampeg PF-20T all tube bass head?

All good - I ran the out into the BAmp Effects return with great results. All the tone shaking action on the BAmp happens post effects loop, so I was able to use the BAmp’s cab profiling, EQ and compressor to sculpt the tone. Thanks all.

Does anyone run their PF-20T straight into the front of a class D? I’ve got a BAmp, thinking about whether I run it into the front or into the loop return for best results.

    Bandmates and your basses

Dingwall and Sadowsky always get positive comments on tone.

    Bergantino B/Amp at NAMM

Makes sense - I uploaded the B version and couldn’t get any of the sounds firing (aux all the way down). Thanks for the info - pretty impressed with the voicing on the circuits so far.

Hi - late rejoining the BAmp party after a recent repurchase of a new one. Could someone please tell me the difference between 4.50 and 4.50B?

    Free The Tone Black Vehicle

Give there’s a heap of SVT type Pedals available, how do you think this compares to the bunch? (Especially anyone who actually owns one)

I don't like anything!! Can anyone just build me a custom head?!?

Or an Ampeg SVT-VR for huge Tube goodness with headroom forever

Bergantino Reference 210/112 stack, with a Forte on top. The VRC has a really nice voicing to it, super easy to dial in, and adds a bit more thickness. Similar tone at all volume levels also.

You walk into a recording studio, 3 basses are hanging on the wall...

I think the consensus will be the same. For the most used tones in music to date, P,J,Ray. There are a number of variations that cover a few of these areas, but I think that group will cover 100% of studio needs.

Tiny Head, Same Big Speaker Cabs: What's the Point?

Lots of good points made here. I think the simple summary is that there are lots of great lightweight heads and cabs that provide fantastic tone and sound options for those who gig a lot or for whom weight is an issue. I’ve recently gone from a class d and neo cab rig to tubes and ceramics...
