Hello,
I’m going to put back my original neck pickup in my SG. I never notised how it was oriented before I took it out. Does it matter how it is oriented now when I will put it back again?
Thanks
MascisMan,
I'm very happy with my EB-BSx. As you probably alreday read I switch via a volume-DPDT pot between serial and coil tappad mode. In full serial it's much punchier than the original Epi mudbucker and in coil tapped it's more defined, a bit like the Darkstar. Often Darkstars are mounted...
Update. Rewired the pickup today to switch between humbucker in serie and coil-tap, i.e. switching between EB-0 and EB-BS. Huge difference, one can wonder why I even thought of having them in parallell.
Have a question to one who might know better. There is a bare wire which I have soldered to...
I know the term coil-tap and coil-split can be confusing and misused and maybe I've got it wrong, but this is what Curtis answered me when I asked him about EB-BSx:
The EB-BSx as is a 2 coil humbucker it replaced the EB-BS which was a single coil.
The EB-BSx is the best most versatile pickup...
Read through ctmullins link, great info there. However, in the article they refer to wiring a coil-splitted humbucker and to toggle between both coils in series and coils splitted.
My attempt and the wiring I attached in the first post is to toggle between a coil-tapped humbucker (series) and a...
Thanks for your reply and your link. Read a lot of your posts regarding those pickups, very helpful. Well, it certainly look less complicated in the link you posted. Great, I will review this.
Do you have any preferences how to connect the tone cap, between volume and tone or only on tone to...
Thanks Snaxter!
I don't know if detailed photos will make it more clear since the attached file is exactly how it is wired and soldered. The control cavity is quite small and with a CTS DPDT push-pull pot in there it's well packed together. Was there something in particular you were thinking of...
First post here in this forum. Have been a long time talkbass reader, it's a great source for information.
I bought a Curtis Novak EB-BSx pickup for my Epi EB-0 which I installed last weekend. I’m not so skilled in electronics and soldering so our guitarist helped me out. I have a DPDT...
