I bought a used MIJ International Color series P bass earlier this year. It's a good weight and sounds like a good P bass should. No need to be put off by basswood.

I have a Fender Hybrid jazz bass, which is MIJ, and that has a lovely U shaped neck. The American Original 70s jazz also has quite a chunky U neck.

Lovely. The blue really comes alive with the white guard.

I like it a lot. I'd probably think of it as having had a replacement neck if I bought it .... which I won't be doing at the price they'll be asking.

Lovely! I tried out the burst version of this and the P, and really preferred the J. Just don't need another J otherwise I'd be after one of these. The build quality was superb.

Play it however you like and turn the volume down between songs and you should be fine. As many have mentioned, run both pickups and any hum should be cancelled. Guitarists with strats and teles will face the same single coil hum issues unless running pickups together.

Also rather like 853-5937 by Squeeze .. But it's still 634-5789 for the win.

I have the same amp as a plug in and play practice amp at home. It was by far the best amp of this size that I tried out .. sounds great for its size. Looks great too!

I had the Vintera and thought the pickup was excellent. The neck is wide, but seemed quite slim front to back to me.

Totally check out The Meters and The Ohio Players ... and don't forget Cameo ...
