Walkabout Scout 1x12 - Loud enough with single 12?

I just received a used Walkabout Scout that i purchased from someone on this forum last week and was wondering how loud the volume can be cranked? I'm afraid to crank the volume pass 3 o'clock. Has anyone gone higher?

    Is moisture killing my speakers?

What about a guitar? Is humidity bad for it? I had always thought the opposite.

Mesa Boogie Walkabout Megathread; Part Two

I've also wondered the same about used walkabouts. I just purchased a used walkabout scout that is 5-6 years old. It has the seperate active/passive inputs rather than the switch. Should i have anything to worry about? And are there any other differences between the new and old ones...

My belt killed my ric :( Help needed!

Thrasher, are they just swirl marks? or are they deep scratches? depending on how bad the scratches are, you might be able to make them disappear yourself. I would buy a very nice carnuba wax. Apply the wax to the guitar continuously over a few months period of time. I would wax that back of...

    Amp hum...

rbonner, you might be on to something. I just recently had my basement finished. Ever since i started playing down there is when i noticed this problem. I will run out to home depot like you suggested and test the outlet. I am crossing my fingers that this is the problem.

    Amp hum...

One thing i noticed is that the noise reduces as i turn down the treble on either the guitar or the amp.

    Amp hum...

I have the same problem. My amp creates a humming noise at high volumes. When i touch the strings on my guitar, the humming goes away. Whats the cause and is there a remedy?

MB CMD 121H vs Mesa Boogie Walkabout

I completely agree with you about not being able to get that warm tube sound from MB. I originally wanted the mb cmd 102p but was disappointed when i was unsuccessful at creating that sound. However, the cmd 121h was able to create alot more warmth. Not as much warmth as the walkabout, but...

MB CMD 121H vs Mesa Boogie Walkabout

Last week I compared the MB cmd 102p vs the Message Boogie Walkabout scout. The Walkabout Scout was the clear winner. After deciding that I know longer wanted a cmd 102p, I had GC order a MB cmd 121H in hopes that this amp would provide more warmth and bottom end. So this weekend I got the...

    CMD 102P vs. CMD 121H

I have also wondered the same. Unfortunately, not too many people on this forum have used the cmd 121h. I had GC order one this week and will be testing it out over the weekend. I'll keep you posted with a comparison between the two.

Best lightweight combo for those live conditions

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I am currently considering the GB Shuttle 112 or the MB CMD 121H. This weekend, I am going to test both of them side by side and will follow up with a review. Last weekend i compared the MB 102p with the Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout. The Mesa's tone...

    Pricing my Geddy Lee

yeah i agree that the $1200 price tag is a tad high. however, there is not way i'd ever sell my GL for $400 in perfect condition. $600-700 seems more reasonable.

    Pricing my Geddy Lee

I bought myself a brand new Geddy Lee Jazz bass a couple years ago for $850. Today I noticed that they are now selling for $1220 at Guitar Center and none of the specs have changed! I was just curious what causes this fluctuation in the price. Does it have to do with a rise in labor costs in...

Am I Doing This Right? (Sansamp content)

Sterling, I'm currently running my BDDI through my amps effects return. You need to control the volume through the BDDI. The BDDI doesn't work if i just plug it into my amps input.
