If there was a time to be "over" slap, it was about 35! years ago when Steely Dan told Chuck Rainey not to do it on Peg because they were sick of it. Of course Chuck did it in the chorus anyway thinking it would be good for the song. That says a lot about his level of musicianship to me.

I'm with you on this one. It's hard for me to believe that anyone who has ever heard "Come On, Come Over", would describe Jaco as funky. Stiff as stiff can be. It's like a bunch of Germans got together and tried to make dance music. ;)
