I took my 500 combo to rehearsals last night and also my passive Jazz (with lighter string gauge) to get funky. I kept everything flat on the EQ and just hit the contour button. I really dug in to my octaves and stuck in the odd slap/pop - it sounded great IMHO.

After trying out a 500 head with a 1 x 15 cab (that's all they had) and the comments on this board, I was converted. Now in possession of a 500 Combo with a 1x15 ext cab. Looks and sounds great with my '76 Jazz! Cheers

And there is my dilemma...I've dealt with the feedback issue by using the Fishman pre-amp but hi-fi is not my thing. I guess I'm looking for a light, 500w combo that is not too bright but allows the natural sound to come through.
