Should i get a GK MB112-II 1x12" 200W or Hartke Kickback 12 Bass Combo, 1x12" (HMKB12) 120W combo amp? These are the 2 used options were i am and are priced the same. I would like the extra 80W with the GK but the hartke one has got some pretty solid reviews. Anyone has experience with both?

normally i wouldn't even think of a combo but this is very tempting at 700$ list price, an ampeg head or cab alone would cost that much , so it would cost me double (the only choices i have are ampeg portaflex or this)

About the new Rumble 500W combo...if i'm getting it correctly the head is 500W at 4 ohms and the speakers are wired in parallel to give 8 ohm impedance , so without an extension cab i would be getting 250W at 8 ohm and need to add another 250W+ 8 ohm cab to get the full 500? also i'm not sure...

I know there's a mile-long thread about this already but it was ages ago, i wonder if the mass opinion has changed since then with all these great lightweight ss amps that got out recently like Aguilar tone hammer 500, ampeg pf 800 and warwick LWA 1000...are tube amps still worth the money and...

@David 70, i think i agree with you almost completely i guess but before i give in i will look into the fret leveling thing. @ejmy, i love fretless basses dude and i already have one they're just the greatest, but i need my fretted too for slapping and stuff

it's a brand new fender MIA standard jazz bass , and he didn't say it can't be done, he just advised he wouldn't do it

i tried tweaking the action myself to get to low action with minimum buzz , but i couldn't really get there, so i took it to a technician and he set up the action real good , playability is top notch, but there still is that string rattle which isn't heard through the amp but annoys me while...

Nowadays we can send the signal out of our amps , so if you amp has a XLR line out, do DIs have any use ?

Would i lose any volume if i played 250w @ 8 ohms rather than 500w at 4 ohms? and also on the amps that can do both 4 ohms and 8 ohms do you change it manually?
