    Grana Louise is actually going to be in a documentary called Women in Blues. Joanne Shaw Taylor is too I think and Ruthie Foster. There's a kickstarter.com campaign going on at the moment for it: Invalid Link Removed

    I agree that Bonnie Raitt is a good choice. My personal favourites are Big Annie's Fanny by Grana Louise and I'm a Woman by Koko Taylor. Also, Joanne Shaw Taylor is a good one to check out.

    "Offensive" band names

    I think it's generally okay to have a band name that is a little risqué but if it's really bigoted or racist or whatever then no way; that's just hurtful and unnecessary.
