Hi, I'd take the black if you can ship to Ontario Canada? I pay charges of course!

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

Hi again, sorry for the delay, I haven't checked in much lately. Thanks so much for the continued suggestions. I think there's enough spring left in the contacts, I didn't force it that much, just enough it seems to be just shy of good contact. Something along the lines of what you've suggested...

I may have a tech look at it. I'd really like to keep it original.

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

Well, I mucked this up royally. I forced one of the longer metal tabs a bit too much while trying to clean the contact and must have fatigued it, with the result I can't get good contact on the tabs for the J side any longer. I'm not sure a tech can fix it even, since the metal lost...

Thanks, these are excellent reference. To compare I'll take a look at that pickup wiring when I get a chance at home. Maybe once you've done your loom, I'll contract you for one!

I'm Ok without the photos Pete, but thank you! I thought about pulling the tabs up and will do so.

Dropping back with an update; lacking the Deoxit I took your suggestion, unscrewed the switch and tipped a bit of alcohol in and worked the switch. The problem now seems to come and go, which validates the switch suggestion. It doesn't drop in and out intermittently, it works for a while and...

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

I think I'd want to keep the original pots and switches or at least replace faulty ones with originals. However, the wiring is fair game. I don't suppose anyone knows someone in the Toronto Ontario (Canada) area that I could trust with a cavity wiring clean-up?

Comments noted. I think everything you've said is worth considering. But I'm also thinking it's not a collector level Aria (regardless of how much I like it) so if the rework would cost in the hundreds it may not be worth it.

Uploading more and hopefully pics of the cavity (please click on thumbnails). Prostheta, the '2 of 4' wires from the MBIII aren't 'tied off'. Also, APII, the braided wire was not grounding on the pots in any way. The upgrade with the copper foil and grounding sounds interesting. If I had a...

Thanks for the input guys. I have to digest this when I get the bass opened up again, busy weekend. No, the MBIII switching has no effect on the problem.

Just checking back in after pics above - should I try Deoxit on the 3-way switch? Connections look OK.

pics added. Another note...it doesn't seem to make any difference is the pickup coil switches are up / down / or in any combination. Always the lower output with the pickup selector at centre position...
