So I just had someone message me who had looked into the history of this bass with EBMM and they mentioned that this is likely a new neck with a defretted rosewood board as the 98 Fretless rays normally came with an unlined pau ferro board. This checks out since the old session player I got...

I wanna say it was made in 2020 cause a lot of the swirls were made around that time but I don’t know for sure. it does have the Darkglass preamp though
