Dingwall Owners Club

They are nice looking basses, but I think the ergonomics and the preamp on the NG3 will suit me better. And I will definitely have the 4-way rotary replaced by a 6-way so I can get the Droc sounds too.

The aquamarine is the coolest. But (surprisingly?) my second favorite is the Ducati white. And it’s much easier to find.
I have both a D Roc and an NG3, and have found I actually prefer the ergonomics of the D Roc. The way the recessed strap buttons are placed makes it sit fantastically on a strap, and the body is well carved with no hard, flat surfaces digging in anywhere. I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying the D Roc might surprise you if you can try one.

Cmon man. Now you’re just trying to make life hard for me. :D

Just to illustrate, here’s where the strap buttons are, on the back:

And here’s how it sits on my bulbous form:

You all pushed and you pushed, and then you pushed some more. But there comes a time when the little guy just can't take it no more. He's gotta push back. He's gotta. But remember, you guys, you... guys, you made this happen.

I ordered wunna them white nollys from andertons. And I ain't sorry. It was just like I heard from that dog what belongs to that Walt guy. I'll never forget that dog...

If you really like the white, hit it! Later on, we'll try to figure out why all the really cool Dingwalls available for sale aren't available in the US ! :p

Not if you want a Z or a Sklar. They can be had in Europe and Japan. Even the choicest imports seem to be overseas. And we pay the same awful shipping and sales tax. Reverb even applies sales tax to international purchases.

White basses are classy! It's very rare I don't like a bass in white.

John fox bass
Fretnation
Ish
Bass central
Chicago music exchange
Musicloft

to name a couple.

An example John Fox has requested 52 customs per year but I don’t think the shop can keep up with that on top of all of the other dealer requests. People are scooping up build slots so we aren’t seeing the volume of customs on the shelf perhaps you’d like but they exist and in equal abundance to the rest of the world in the US. Maybe just not the exact modes your looking for either.

if a nicely spec’d Z his the shelf anywhere in the world it doesn’t stay on the market.
Check the classified, @sleevy just picked up and for some crazy reason is already selling a crazy spec ABZ from Fretnation who always seems to have a nice Canadian custom FS.

and no, you don’t pay the same shipping. Canadian shipping is significantly higher then US shipping.

In Canada we have basically L and M country wide and a few small shops scattered across the country. The home of Dingwall seems to be lucky to see 5 Canadian made basses put on the rack per year… across the country. So……. Just saying, You guys have it pretty good south of the hedgerow.

Dammit. Andertons' website was in error, they won't have a white one in stock until next year. I could get the matte metallic gold or the Celestial Blue.

Or I could get the black one in the classifieds, which already has the 6-way switch and a Pope flexcore preamp.
Does anybody have any experience or feelings about how the Flexcore would compare to the Darkglass pre in this bass?
