    Multi-capacitor tone control

Hi, thanks for that, I was a bit confused but have it up and running now. Its a very cool mod, and it really does add different tones to the bass. I tried it on the centre lug, and on the outside lug (where my cap was) and it works the same either way!

    Multi-capacitor tone control

I figured out how do do this, but confused about one thing. In the Seymour Duncan wiring sites the caps are all on the outside (3rd lug) which is what I did.... this diagram shows the Caps on the switch going to the centre lug on the tone pot. On my bass the vol pot goes to the centre lug on the...

    Multi-capacitor tone control

Can you tell me, in this diagram the pot shown is the tone pot right? I`m trying to understand how to add the multicap option into my existing wiring [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] also in your diagram the two caps are soldered together and grounded? You helped me recently with the dpdt...

    Multi-capacitor tone control

Yes I just checked, it a 500 audio pot in the tone. I used it because I was trying to do a tone bypass with it, and couldn`t find a log push/pull. its too noisy anyway, so i`ll replace it when my new ones arrive in the post. You are right too, i`ll just pick up a bunch of different caps and let...

    Multi-capacitor tone control

Thank You for that reply, I`m still trying to get to grips with the values of caps. I was recommended the 680pf for achieving a real low end. I have 550k pots in the bass just for preference, I am looking for something that can take the top off a little if needed. Most caps I tried seem do do...

    Dpdt wiring question

I think I have it sorted. i got 3 diagrams from 3 sources. all say my pickups would be 180 out of phase but I can fix it by reversing the wires on the SD P pickups. I thought i`d share here in case it helps anybody else. I added a pic of the bass too. I cut the pickguard ( and filled the gap) so...

Thanks, I don`t have an ohm meter and i`m sure what kind to look for. Hi, I could do with some help, i`ve spent weeks trying to figure out how to wire a dpdt switch on/on/on for series/coil split/ parallel. It for a bass MM style humbucker I installed on a P Bass. The humbucker comes (according to the factory) wired in series. I have both pickups wired up (my...
