    Tony Franklin Bass

Thanks! Excellent advice. Plan on checking out the used one hopefully as soon as I can squeeze in the road trip. Just trying to make sure it's worth the hassle. An '06 or '07 but certainly no basement bargain deal. Condition is mint as far as pics go. New would be Sweetwater. I couldn't...

Interesting. I've seen some with the silver poles on the bridge pickup. Thanks for explaining the reason.

Thanks for the thorough comparison. Interesting about the fret edges and that's only within a few years apart. Neck dip certainly not a concern. My main bass is a '73 Precision. I'd shop vintage but the right bass for the right price could take forever.

I've read about people that have swapped the neck as well because they love the way bass is set up. Guessing that's why they made a fretted option for a few years.

Trying to decide between a used or new Tony Franklin fretless. Recently found a sunburst finish that Fender no longer makes. Would be my first choice. New, I know it's either the black or Lake Placid blue. Leaning towards the black. My question has nothing to do with the finish. Does...

Hypothesis : replace my SVT stack and small combo by a single medium amp… but what?

Faced a similar dilemma, we'll sort of, when I decided it was time to downsize from my SWR setup. (2×10 Goliath II Jr on top of a 1x18 Big Ben) Powered them with an Ampeg rackmounted SVT Pro III. Sounded great but got to be a pain lugging for gigs. Enter the Mesa Subway line. So far have...

What's your favourite Mesa Subway Head?

Looking to rack my recently acquired WD800 in a Calzone Case. Torn between the standard black or the blue that I was informed was an option. It would match the pretty blue lights for sure.

What's your favourite Mesa Subway Head?

Purchased the WD800 about a week ago and loving it. Have it going through some SWR gear right now and cannot wait to have some Subway cabs completing the setup

    Mesa Head Case

Would be cool if Mesa still made the head cases that were used for the Walkabouts. Would be a nice option for the Subway heads that they currently make. I know portability is a big factor on their appeal but these cabinets sure are sweet!

    Deciding on a Mesa cab

That right there is a thing of beauty. Was the head enclosure done in Mesa's custom shop? Didn't know they made a cabinet for their heads.

Thanks for that! I was thinking the same. If I was to bring one cabinet to a gig which would bring me the most satisfaction. I think the 2×12 would not disappoint in the least.

    Deciding on a Mesa cab

Guys, thanks for all the input! All of your comments are much appreciated. Will keep you posted on the outcome but may take a bit since since anything Mesa even here in the New York area is a ways away as far as delivery. Says quite a bit about their gear.

    Deciding on a Mesa cab

The 215 has the rollers. The 212 seems a well designed lighter weight cabinet. My thinking is that if I opt for a pair of 115s or a 115 and 112 or my first initial plan of a 115 and the 210 I'd end up dragging both cabinets to gigs anyway. I love the design of the 212 and the thought of...

    Deciding on a Mesa cab

I've heard the glowing reviews about the SW115 as well. It would be the first cab I pick up if I go that route. My current rig is an old school SWR set up. A 2×10 Goliath II Jr and a back breaking Big Ben powered by an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro. Sounds awesome but at 53 I'm looking at the next chapter...

    Deciding on a Mesa cab

Looking to take the Mesa plunge. Their Subway line is the answer to my heavy cabinet issues. Anyway initially thought the SW210 and SW115 was the way to go but now am leaning towards a single SW212. Plan on pairing with the WD800. Thoughts?
