Delta King Club. for OB-20 owners

You can have my endorsement. I sold my OB-20 a few years ago. Did not have any gripe with it, but I fell in love with a Peavey Grind 4.

The wood is worn out. Repairable, but it would take some imagination and talent. Not the dumb idea of gluing the posts in there. Maybe drilling slightly larger holes, filling with them up epoxy/wood powder mix. Then re-drilling new holes after cure.

    The audience walked away

I dunno about you, but I've heard a lot of good advice here!!! But then, what if your covers are also kinda obscure, or don't match the audience's tastes? :rollno: You're an entertainer, scout the venue and occasion, decide if you belong there, and have material to suite.

    First bass riffs you learned

The first riff and the next few were from songs stuck in my head. My first was Tax Man_Beatles, repeating pattern. Just like songs I write nowadays, stoner trance bass grooves.

The Weekend Warrior Band Guide to Unrealistic Expectations

The most ridiculous demand I got was an offer to be lead guitarist for a country cover band. But I had to own a Fender Strat and Twin Reverb. drool Ridiculous first of all because I play blues rock and psychedelic. :woot:

    Best Bass Wah?

Wahs are kinda pricey, and have tried a few. The Dunlop Cry Baby for guitar or bass has too big a sweep, for any song you need to find the right zone and stay inside it. Easy to lose the zone. Then they came out with the Cry Baby 535Q, with tone, volume and sweep controls, FANTASTIC for bass or...

What the cutoff for heavy vs light weight.

Interesting and good to read an actual preference. Me at 64 yrs-ole, anything more than 7 lb crushes the shoulder joint after half an hour. That said my fave base is a Peavey Grind 4 @ 8lb 14oz. I put up with it because it's my favorite.

Please recommend me basses with thick necks

The thickest neck I've owned would be my Epiphone Les Paul Standard Bass. Weight: 8lb 14oz, made in Unsung Korea 2001. Thick rounded neck, 1950s. I'm planning on grinding it down to a thinner profile. Love it but playing scales I get sore tendons between my 2nd and 3rd fingers.
