    Fender Rumble Club

I've had my Rumble 200 for almost two weeks and I love it! The overdrive is decent but my Leeds pedal just pushes it to the next level. Great job, Fender!

    Fender Rumble Club

I tried out the Rumble 40 at my local GC and was very impressed. First thing I noticed was how loud it was! Didn't have to turn the gain and master past 9 o'clock. What really wowed me was how clear it sounded. I thought it was very neutral yet musical, with just a little bump in the treble to...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

How bad is the hum? My Ursa has a pretty bad hum, among the worst I've heard in a bass. I just put in a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 as well and it totally ruins the great sound of that pickup. The hum was there with the stock pickup too. Does it need shielding or are maybe the wiring and components to...

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

I had the DP122 in my 2011 MIM Fender P and I would consider it very hot. A bump in the lows and a bigger bump in the mids. Very growly and raunchy. I got a killer pick tone ala Entwistle from Live at Leeds but fingerstyle I found that it didn't articulate highs well when I wanted a quieter...

    SOLD FS: Tokai TPB-64

With a feeler gauge, I measured the E at the 12th fret at 7/64". Feels pretty good to me and no fret buzz! I can't say again how good this bass sounds. Check out a sound demo at https://soundcloud.com/calebrick/tokai-tpb-64.

    SOLD FS: Tokai TPB-64

Thought I would answer a few questions some users have been having. The weight came out to 8 pounds on a postal scale. I don't have a feeler gauge to accurately measure the string height to achieve no buzz but I'll put the bass back together tonight and use a ruler. As for the strings...

    SOLD FS: Tokai TPB-64

It weighed 5 pounds on my bathroom scale but I'm sure that's not very accurate. I had a 2011 MIM Fender P and the Tokai felt a tiny bit heavier than it. I'm not sure if it's a refin since I'm not the original owner but it might very well be.

    SOLD FS: Tokai TPB-64

This fine bass is a Tokai TPB-64. This is a Japanese-made post-lawsuit model made in the 80's and is a spot-on recreation of a 1964 Fender Precision Bass. Everyone knew the Japanese made better Fenders than Fender back in the day and this is no exception. Feels extremely solid. Reverse tuners...

This is a Limited Edition Epiphone Custom Shop Thunderbird. Epiphone made these briefly a couple years ago. Note the silver hardware and pickups. The front strap button is on the neck plate, which reduces neck dive. Plays fast, gets that distinctive "honk" tone that you would expect from a...
