It seems counterintuitive that oiling a wood fingerboard makes it harder. I would think that removing moisture from a permeable material makes it harder. (Roasted necks?) Somebody please 'splain. Thanks.

Just a quick correction... Gene Hall started the jazz program at North Texas in 1947. William Lee did attend, and received a bachelor's & master's degree there.

No doubt that Brecker was a big influence on tenor players, but Wayne, Sonny, and Trane played VIs before the first Dreams album was ever released.

It's like, you're putting in as much effort inputing information as you do with standard notation (maybe more), you may as well just learn to read music. I mean, you just add one line and move the notes down into their proper place, and you'd have it.
