Help Young Girl Choose Her First Bass!

My first post. I guess I am clueless! Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know old stuff like that would be around. I will pay more attention next time!

I would suggest the Cort artisan as well, bartolini mk1's on the standard, but on the higher end( I have the custom z-zebrawood) the barts are upgraded also. I got mine for 700 bucks, and love it. I've had about a dozen basses and played 35 years, so I know a little.

I have bad cheap boxes, and have found that the application sucks in practice - you can only twist the job on your 70's echoplex so many times(not a cheap box) I'm not out there yet. I write and play well enough I think I can pull off clubs. I have about $500 to spend. That's where I'm at

I don't know how those complexities will work out - I am trying to put myself in a position to adapt without having an "if only" moment for $500 or so

I lightly use effects - reverb, a touch of compression and chorus, I'll toss in a line of freeze and my looper on occasion

The ampeg 112 I'm thinking is a good option

I'm playing a cort artisan custom z, with the barts upgraded from the mk-1s. I am liking it. Deep piano sounds, lots of play from the eq, and I love the option of passive/ active in a quick switch for certain passages, and clean. Tonally, the instrument is more than adequate.

Thanks. I always liked the depth of a15" and never worried about whether my triplets were being compromised until I heard it was a thing. I'll just play. I worried about poopie for no reason. That guy at the rear seat in the middle of a 6top probably didn't notice, the bastard.

I'm looking for that impossible ground of 75w to 150w 10's 12's and 15". I play with a lot of nuances, and fear the response time of a 15".the obvious is to grab a 12" speak with at least 75w, and a tweeeter for my touch stuff. Can 2x10's throw enough air to feel the thump in a small club? I'm a...
