No way. Sean Malone. Much more interesting bassist which utilizes the fretless much better within the metal genre.

Roger Patterson wrote the best lines in Atheist, if you ask me. Choy's cool too, no doubt about that, but Patterson had a crazy attack and fantastic lines. Too bad he didn't get to record the basslines for Unquestionable Presence before he died.

I use a Warwick FNA Jazzman for playing metal. Also aiming to buy some kind of fretless within the next couple of months, which I'm going to use in metal. Nothing beats Sean Malone's playing in Cynic.

Definetly a 5-string with AB-headstock. I'm not keen on J-headstocks.

I take very little interest in solo players like Wooten and company, except that they have got very good technique, and some tricks in the bag that is interesting, or that could be interesting in a band.
