Every AC/DC song sounds exactly the same to me. I forgot at one time they had actually had a bassist. I do not find them to be talented at all. Also, their singer is pretty damn annoying. If you like them, that's fine. A lot of people I used to go to school with would try to shove the fact that they are 'good' down my throat.

Now i come from a music scene where everyone who i play with is a metal head so this may seem like a bigger deal to me than you guys:

in general i really don't like metallica.
a couple good songs...
that i can listen to like twice before getting sick of them...
but besides that:
they pretty much suck. (in my opinion of course :p)

It's not that they're crazy talented or anything - it's just that they carved out a whole new sound and exploited the hell out of it. I get the "songs all sound the same" thing. You're right. But it's their formula and they made it famous so I give em props. The other cool thing about AC/DC is that they really play extremely well together - the sound is incredibly tight.

This is a ridiculous statement, there is no comparison.
Yorke and Bellamy can't be compared, for one.
While I love the feeling that radiohead puts into their music, lets face it, he's not exactly always on pitch.
Bellamy was trained as a opera singer for much of his life before starting the Rocket Baby Dolls and then Muse.
His voice isn't gorgeous all the time, given, but Bellamy is based more on the right notage, while Thom is all about the soul of the song itself.

Just listen to Assassin and tell me how they're a tribute to a band that produces House of Cards and the Bends.
Then listen to New Born and tell me how they're the same

I cant really say. Its just something I learned to hear. As I said in my first post I kind of had a revelation one day just walking around town with my mp3-player and since then I have learned to hear the bass way more clearly than I was before. Sorry, this doesnt help you at all but thats how it was for me.

-Yeah Jerry on Banjo was no slouch at all.
-Juanita and the live version of Love Hurts does it for me every time (among many, many others)
-I think it's funny that bluegrass fans feel the need to point out that they were fans before "O! Brother" I make sure to do it whenever I find other Bluegrass fans. I'm kind of a snob like that.

I have been so turned off by the music that has come out in the past 10 years that I never turn on the radio anymore. The only time I am exposed is in someone else's car and it blows my mind how bottom of the barrel it is. I think the only band that caughty my attention was System of a down{and thats not even for bass guitar reasons}. Thanks the Lord for Ipod's.

Now I dont know how many people here are familiar with Exodus but the thing is they are this classic bay area thrash metal band. Their "bonded by blood " record is regarded as a classic in the genre. They brke up but made a comeback a few years ago. I for one loves the new stuff but cant get into their old material at all. The comeback records "tempo of the damned", "shovel headed kill machine" and "the atrocity exhibition... exhibit a" are all great modern thrash metal but I cant stand listening their so called classic "bonded by blood".

I didn't much care for the Beatles. They only had a couple of really good songs.

Or any of this "classic" rock. Led Zep, AC/DC, I just think its pure cheese.

Also, I hate muse. I just simply hate them.

Thats not to say I don't see why people may like these bands, or why they may be regarded as pioneers of something or other, but my god, I just don't enjoy them!

I used to rock "Fabulous Disaster" all the time, and I saw Exodus with Suicidal Tendencies in 1990. But I never liked "Bonded By Blood" either.

i truly love the song "sugar sugar" by the archies

i truly love THE MONKEES

even if i didnt work for them, i still think RICK PRICE is the greatest bassist who has ever lived.

i truly think peter tork, is a great bassist. listen to the live stuff.

i dont get jimmy buffett, the grateful dead or elton john or fleetwood mac [after peter green].

i wish eric clapton would stfu and issue an instrumental guitar album and quite boring us with his adult contemporary crap.

that is all...........FOR NOW!
