To be clear, the “too busy”, “fill more space”, and “here listen to Sheehan” all came from the drummer. The guitarist hasn’t offered much in the way of notes/feedback. As it stands, there’s not a bandleader and the group is ostensibly one of the democratic variety.

Doug, there is a massive buzz when I'm not holding the strings, but when I removed the bridge it appeared to have a ground wire. I know how to solder, should I just go ahead and redo the electronics while I'm putting in shielding, or would the grounding issue be something I couldn't fix? Rojo...

Oh good point guys. The bass isn't shielded. Will shielding it make a difference for the hum that's produced when I'm holding the strings, or just the buzz when I'm not grounding the strings?
