    @Gord: "Vintage Sound" or "Old Sound" is that sound taked from 50-60-70's basses, was warmest and have more middle/high freqs, hasn't that "punch" or Deep bass, like a "modern" sound. So, some brands make pickups trying to give a specific sound for specifics functions: -A very Punch and deep...
